Liberty Place acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as Traditional Custodians of this land, and recognises their ongoing connection to land, waters and community.
We pay our respects to the First Australians, and their Elders past, present and emerging.
Liberty Place proudly rests on the land of the Gadigal People who are one of 29 clan groups that are identified collectively as the Eora Nation. The Eora Nation is now known as the Sydney metropolitan region.
Eora people are known as saltwater people and the Gadigal people lived all around Sydney harbour. Gadigal men and women fished from the abundant harbour, men using multi-pronged spears and women in kayaks made from bark from kurrajong and hibiscus trees.
